Past Events

McCoy Rigby Arts puts on a variety of events every year. From performances to fundraisers, there is always something exciting going on at McCoy Rigby Arts!

At McCoy Rigby Arts we love allowing our students to explore all aspects of theater, including performing in new musicals. This year our spring musical was Wonderland, with music, lyrics and book by MRA instructor John Blaylock. It was incredible to watch our students create their own versions of characters from the beloved story of Alice in Wonderland, and for the first time we performaced at the Chance Theater in Anaheim!

In spring of 2017 we partnered, for the first time, with Bryant Ranch Elementary to produce their spring musical. The students loved getting to work with our MRA staff and learning the ins and outs of producing a full musical. We are looking forward to working with the PTA at Bryant Ranch in the future!

Grinched – Holiday 2017

After the success of our first Holiday showcase in 2016 this year we added 2 shows and a ton more numbers. The recreational classes put together fun holiday performances and the Musical theater department performed scenes and songs from Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

Catalina Christmas

Last year the Musical Theater department paired up with the Catalina Museum on Catalina Island for two exciting events. The most recent was during the 2017 Holiday season. Our students were joined by music students of the Kris Breese for a small performance of numbers from Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas and a few holiday classics.

Gala 2017: Some Enchanted Evening

2017 was our first year holding our annual fundraising Gala at Hangar 21, in Fullerton, CA. During an incredible meal catered by Jay’s catering, guests were treated to and incredible show hosted by Nick Di Nieri, with entertainment from McCoy Rigby Arts’ Musical Theater and No Limits students, and industry professionals. Special guest performances included: Reverb-Tap company, the cast of McCoy Rigby Entertainment’s production of- Ain’t Misbehavin’, Carly Bracco (Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan tour, Frozen at the Hyperion) and Davis Gaines (Broadway’s Phantom of the Opera). All in all it was definitely an Enchanted Evening for all.
